Center Step Tri-Fold Card
For the card: Die cut the card from Chantilly Lace burgundy cardstock. Follow the package directions to fold the card and burnish the creases with the bone folder. Cut 5 5/8"x5 7/8" burgundy cardstock and score it ½" from one of the 5 5/8" edges. Crease the score in a mountain fold, then place Extra Sticky tape on the inside of this tab.
Turn the die cut card 90 degrees and place it face down with the center fold on the right. Attach the tab of the scored panel to the die cut card front, aligning the cut edge with the fold in the panel. (This will create a tri-panel card with the center panel popping up when the card is opened and the left panel wrapping over the card when it’s closed.)
For the front: Cut 4¾"x5½" Chantilly Lace burgundy border paper with the lace along the right edge. Mat it on tan cardstock with 1/16” borders. Wrap a 6" length of pink swirl sheer ribbon across the panel 5/8" from the top, and glue the ends to the back. Glue the panel centered on the card front.
Cut 2 1/8"x4 1/8" mauve cardstock and round the corners. Mat it on Gold paper with 1/16" borders, then place a large gold birdcage Dazzles™ on it. Foam tape the cage at the upper right, slipping it under the ribbon. Cut out the Chantilly Lace “not older…” oval and ink the edges. Mat it on gold paper with a 1/16" border, then glue and foam tape it to the front as shown.
Place two small gold bird Dazzles™ on yellow cardstock and cut along the edges. Foam tape both to the front as shown. Cut out the Chantilly lace pink dotted oval and ink the edges. Mat it on Gold paper with a 1/16" border, then place “tweet hello” Dazzles™ on it. Glue it at the lower left.
Make a four-loop bow with the same ribbon and tie the center with thread. Glue the bow to the first ribbon over the cage top, then glue a ¾" posie to the center. Glue a leaf and a 1" posie as shown.
For the first right inner panel: Open just the front panel. Cut 3¼"x4½" Chantilly Lace burgundy border paper with the roses on the right. Mat it on Gold paper with 1/8" borders, then glue it to the right panel as shown.
Cut 1½"x3 3/8" Chantilly Lace pink dotted cardstock, round the corners, and mat it on Gold paper with narrow borders. Glue it and place a gold cage Dazzles™ on it as shown. Back another small gold bird Dazzles™ with yellow cardstock, then foam tape it as shown. Open the right panel so all three inside panels show.
For the left inner panel: Cut 4"x4½" Chantilly Lace pink bordered cardstock with the lace on the left and mat it on Gold paper with 1/8" borders. Cut 4"x1 1/8" Chantilly Lace pink tapestry cardstock and mat the long edges on Gold paper with 1/8" borders. Glue it to the pink cardstock 1 1/8" from the bottom. Glue the pink cardstock centered on the left panel.
Punch out the label die-cut and cut out the “happy birthday” oval. Ink the edges of the label and mat the oval on Gold paper with 1/16" borders. Glue both to the strip as shown. Back a large gold bird Dazzles™ with yellow cardstock then foam tape it and add two gold corner Dazzles™ as shown.
For the center inner panel: Cut 4"x3½" Chantilly Lace yellow border cardstock with the lace along the bottom. Mat it on Gold paper with 1/8" borders, then glue it centered on the panel. Cut out the labels shown and mat each on Gold paper with 1/16" borders. Glue the labels and place a chain Dazzles™ as shown. Back a large gold bird Dazzles™ with yellow cardstock, then foam tape the bird and place two gold corner Dazzles™ as shown.
For the right inner panel: Cut 3¼"x4½" Chantilly Lace pink corner paper with the roses at the lower right and mat it on Gold paper with 1/8" borders. Glue it to the panel. Cut 1 7/8"x3½" yellow border cardstock and mat it on Gold paper with 1/16" borders. Glue it as shown, then place the remaining gold cage Dazzles™ on it.
