About Us

You Can Dought

Paper Wishes is part of Hot Off The Press which launched in 1980. It was on Paulette Jarvey’s kitchen table that she wrote instructions for that first craft book about making dough art titled You Can Dough It! Her husband, the ever-supportive Mike, took step by step photos. Hot Off The Press ® started as a very small, very family business. Kathy, Paulette’s sister, shipped the orders and paid the bills. Teresa Welch was the first non-family employee and later became vice president. She still designs with the company today.

Hot Off The Press published craft books on everything except needlecraft. We also produced custom craft books for over 60 companies including Michaels, Hallmark, Rubbermaid and Time Warner. We proudly won 31 Awards of Excellence from the craft industry—yes, that’s a record in the market! In 1996 we pivoted from publishing craft idea books to creating Paper Pizazz ™ books of patterned papers and launched scrapbooking to retail stores. We were the first at retail and that changed everything! We were granted the Disney license and released over 20 Disney scrapbooking items. We were regularly on HSN and earlier on QVC London.

PW Spring 2020

Paper Wishes ® catalog was born in 2002 and everything changed again! We expanded into buying from over 80 manufacturers all over the globe. We continued designing our own papers, Dazzles ™ stickers, stamps, cutting dies, DVDs—literally thousands of items.

In 2018 we transferred to the Paper Wishes we are today. We sell exclusively online and we are still creating tons of unique goodies. Most importantly, we’re still showing how to use the products we sell. We continue to believe showing how to use the products, whether in book or video form, is the best way to share with our customers. And they are the most important part of the Paper Wishes family.
