Side-Step Birthday Easel Card
Cut 5 3/8"x4 3/8" brown small Gingham paper and mat it on brown cardstock with 1/8" borders. Cut 4"x3¼" Dotted Duos brown small dots paper and mat it on brown cardstock with 1/8" borders. Glue it to the gingham paper, centered ¼" from the right edge. Wrap a 6" length of ½" wide tan grosgrain ribbon over both papers, 7/8" from the right edge, and glue the ends to the back. Tie two 3" lengths of ivory 1/8" wide grosgrain ribbon onto the tan ribbon near the bottom. Glue the paper centered on the front.
Place white “just for you” Dazzles™ across the front as shown. Die cut the eight blossoms from the foam as shown using the three smaller dies. Heat the iron to a medium setting, then use tweezers to place a blossom on the hot surface. Leave it on the iron until the petals begin to curl and the blossom shrinks a bit. Repeat with all the blossoms.
Die cut the medium fern and a leaf branch from green cardstock. Use Sticky Specks to attach the fern angled down from the upper right corner. Cut the branch into two sprigs and glue one angled above the fern and one angled below. Stack the blossoms as shown, using Extra Sticky tape between the layers.
Attach three flowers over the fern. Die cut another branch from green cardstock and cut two short sprigs from it. Glue the sprigs and the last flower to the front at the lower left. Place three heart bubbles on the front and round bubbles in the flower centers as shown.
For the inside step card: Trace and cut the paper pattern from Dotted Duos brown small dots paper. Cut 1"x4 5/8" brown small Gingham paper and glue it to the dotted paper, ½" from the left edge. Place a white border Dazzles™ on each side of the strip, trimming the excess. Glue the paper centered on the step card front.
Place white “celebrate” Dazzles on the lower front as shown. Make another layered foam flower, using the three largest blossom dies. Die cut a fern and leaf branch from green cardstock. Glue the fern extending up the left side and attach the flower at the lower left. Trim and glue short branch sprigs extending from under the flower to the right and lower left.
Cut 2¾"x1 3/8" small brown Gingham paper and 2¾"x1 7/8" green small Gingham paper. Place white border Dazzles™ near the upper edge of both, then glue the papers to the appropriate step panels. Create two more smaller foam flowers as shown, cut sprigs off a branch die-cut. Glue the sprigs and flowers and place bubbles as shown.
For the inside lower panel: Cut 5¼"x4¼" Dotted Duos brown small dots paper and mat it on brown cardstock with 1/8" borders. Cut 5¼"x1" brown large Gingham paper and glue it across the dotted paper, ¾" from the lower card edge.
Place a white border Dazzles™ along the lower edge of the gingham strip, trimming the excess. Place white “happy birthday” Dazzles™ as shown. Create another foam flower. Die cut a branch from green cardstock and cut short sprigs from the branch. Glue the sprigs and the flower at the lower right and place two bubbles as shown.
