Happy Birthday
Place your card out flat on your cutting mat with the fold running vertical. Place the stencil on the right side of the card, with the large butterfly image angled on the front, with the left wing overlapping the fold and left side of the card 3/4". The top of the right butterfly wing should be 3/8” from the top. Trace the portion of the image that is left of the fold with the pencil. Remove the template and use your knife to cut around the pencil line, just up to the fold. Close the card, letting the cut portion extend from the left side of the card.
Cover the card front with Mirage red/floral border paper with about 2” or so of the floral border showing at the bottom of the card. Ink the edges black.
Place the stencil on Mirage black textured paper and tape the edges in place. Use the squeegee to apply white embossing paste evenly across the large butterfly image of the stencil, placing the excess back into the container. Carefully remove the tape and stencil. Wash and dry the stencil. Repeat this process for the flourish corner and the small butterfly on the same paper. Let the images dry for 1 hour.
Position the clean stencil back on the large butterfly dried embossing paste design. Using the stencil brush and a Stamp & Stick Glue Pad, stipple the glue on the dried embossing paste. Wash the stencil brush. Set with a heat gun for 30 seconds in a circular motion. Let cool a couple of minutes, and then place metal leaf on top of the glue/embossing paste design. Lightly press into place with the stencil brush. Gently brush excess leaf away, using a circular motion to show detailed areas. Repeat this process for the small butterfly and flourish corner images.
Trim around the butterfly images leaving a 1/16” border on each. Place the large butterfly angled on the card, aligning it with the edge of the left wing and placing it so the right wing is 3/4" from the top. Glue in place. Trim around the bottom portion of the flourish embossed/gold leaf image below the swirls leaving 1/16” borders. Glue on the lower right corner of the card.
Use the Tiny Tags & Little Labels template Rectangular Label B to trace the shape on Mirage aqua textured paper, and cut it out. Mat on Mirage black textured paper with 1/16” borders. Place the label on the card near the upper left corner. Trim away the swirls from the remaining flourish embossed/gold leaf image leaving 1/16” borders and tuck it beneath the top edge of the label. Glue pieces in place.
Place Tiny Words & Phrases Dazzles™ “Happy Birthday” centered on the label. Embellish the label and floral border of the card with Gold Jewel Dazzles™.
Cover the inside with remaining red/floral border paper and ink the edges black. Trace and cut out a Rectangular Label A from aqua textured paper. Mat on black textured paper with 1/16” borders. Glue on the inside, just right of center. Place Dazzles™ “Celebrate!” on the center of the label. Place the remaining embossed/gold leaf small butterfly image angled overlapping the label. Glue in place. Add Gold Jewel Dazzles™ as shown.
