Christmas Memories Overlapping Gatefold Card
For the card front: To make a gatefold card, open the card and score 2½" from each end. Fold the ends in to meet in the middle. For the hinges, cut two 2½"x1" ivory cardstock strips and score vertically down the center of each. Crease the scores in mountain folds, then place 2-sided tape on the outside surfaces of both strips.
On the card front panels, measure 1½" down from the top edge and lightly mark it. Remove the tape liner from one half of one hinge. Place the hinge on a front flap at the 1½" mark, with the fold along the panel edge. Repeat with the second hinge on the other front panel (the folds of both hinges should match up when the card is closed).
Cut two 2 3/8"x6 3/8" Christmas Memories green dotted papers and glue one centered on each front panel, covering the attached sections of the hinges. Cut out the holly border and mat the long edges on dark red cardstock with 1/8" borders. Cut two 2 3/8" lengths and glue across the front panels, ½" from the card bottom.
Place gold border Dazzles™ along the upper edges of the green front panel papers and above and below the holly borders, trimming the excess. Punch out the Christmas Memories lantern tag and ink the edges. Remove the tape liner from the hinge on the left front panel. Center the tag on the hinge and press in place.
Cut out the tan/white “Merry Christmas…” tag and mat it on dark red cardstock with 1/8" borders. Re-punch the hole in the tag top, then attach the tag to the hinge on the right front panel so the left front tag covers it when the card is closed. Tie ¼" wide sheer ribbon onto the left front tag and into a shoestring bow. Attach 4" of gingham ribbon to the right front tag.
For the inside: Cut 4 3/8"x5 5/8" Christmas Memories green music paper with the border along the bottom. Place gold border Dazzles™ along the upper and lower edges, trimming the excess. Mat the paper on dark green cardstock with 1/8" borders.
