Christmas Aglow 5-Panel Card
Instructions:
1. For the card: Fold the white card, bring the right front edge back to the fold, and crease. Cut 8½"x3¼" white cardstock and place it horizontally. Score it 3" and 8" from the left end. Place sticky tape on the ½" tab on the right end. Crease the 3" score in a mountain fold and the 8" score in a valley fold. Attach the right end tab to the back of the card’s left front panel, aligning the bottom edges.
2. For the front panel: Cut 2¾"x3" Christmas Aglow red checks cardstock and glue it centered on the front. Place black Straight Line Dazzles™ near the lower edge, trimming the excess. Cut 4¼"x2½" Christmas Aglow red checks/roses cardstock and mat it on white cardstock with ⅛" borders. Glue the right half to the first card panel, centering it across the front.
3. Cut out the “just for you” label and mat it on white cardstock with 1/16" borders. Glue it to the front panel, ½" from the right card edge. Die cut a large lantern from black glitter cardstock and back it with vellum, cutting along the edges.
4. Die cut the candle once from solid red cardstock and once from yellow cardstock. Cut the yellow flame off the candle and glue it over the red flame, then glue the candle inside the lantern. Die cut three fir sprigs from solid green cardstock. Glue the sprigs and foam tape the lantern to the front panel as shown. Tie a shoestring bow with baker’s twine and glue it to the lantern top.
5. For the second panel: Lift up the first panel. Cut 4¾"x3" Christmas Aglow red checks cardstock and glue it centered on the second panel. Pull the first panel completely open to expose the inside second panel. Cut 4¾"x3" Christmas Aglow red checks/roses cardstock and glue it centered on the panel. On both the front and back of this panel, place black straight line Dazzles™ near the lower edge, trimming the excess.
6. For the third panel: Cut 2¼"x6¼" Christmas Aglow red checks/roses cardstock and glue it centered on the panel. Place gold and black straight line Dazzles™ near the upper edge and black straight line Dazzles™ near the lower edge, trimming the excess. Cut out the “a little smile…” label and mat it on white cardstock with 1/16" borders. Die cut a pine sprig from dark green solid cardstock, then glue it and the label as shown.
7. For the fourth and fifth panels: Cut 2¼"x6¼" and 4¾"x6¼" Christmas Aglow green roses cardstocks and glue them centered on the panels as shown. Place straight line Dazzles™ near the upper and lower edges to match the previous panels, trimming the excess.
8. Die cut the small lantern from black glitter cardstock, two pine sprigs from dark green cardstock, and the candle from light and dark yellow cardstocks. Back the lantern with vellum. Cut the flame off the dark yellow candle and glue it to the flame on the light yellow candle, then glue the candle inside the lantern.
9. Cut out the “let’s be merry” label, then glue it, the lantern, and pine sprigs in the lower right corner as shown. Knot red gingham ribbon, trim the ends, and glue the knot and a small pine sprig to the lantern top.
