Red & White Christmas Shutter Card
For the card & papers: Follow the directions on the template to trace and cut a shutter card from cardstock. Fold as directed. Trace and cut outer frame A paper pattern twice from Happy Days red/white dotted paper. Glue one centered on the card front and the second on the inside back.
Trace and cut the center paper pattern twice from Happy Days red paper. Glue one on the center panel, then cut the second in half as directed on the template and glue one on each side of the center panel. Trace and cut the spine paper pattern twice from Happy Days green paper, then glue to the upper and lower center panels.
For the card front: Place 5/8" wide Dazzles™ lace 1/8" from the left edge, then place ¼" Dazzles™ lace 1/8" from the inner edge of the first lace. Stamp “Merry Christmas” and three large stars on watercolor paper. Color the stars with watercolor pencil #108, then shade the lower areas with #121. Color the star in the greeting with #108. Dip the paintbrush in water and dab the excess off on a paper towel. Brush over the colored areas, blending the colors.
Trim the greeting to 3¼"x 5/8" and mat on Happy Days red paper with 1/32" borders. Mat on Happy Days green paper with 1/16" borders, then foam tape at the top. Cut out the stars, then glue two and foam tape one near the bottom as shown. Place jewel Dazzles™ as shown.
For the inside: Stamp the girl and dog on watercolor paper, then trim to 2½"x3". Use the pencils to color the image. Color her hair with #187, adding streaks of #176, her skin with #131, her dress and bow with #121, and her smock with #168. Color the dog with #234, adding #199 in the shadowed areas. Use the paintbrush with water to blend each color, cleaning the brush between colors.
Glue the girl and dog to the center panel. Place lacy Dazzles™ around the image and on all the inside panels as shown. Stamp “many hugs and kisses…” on watercolor paper and trim to 1½"x1¼". Color the block letters with #121 and blend with the brush. Mat on Happy Days red paper with 1/16" borders, then on white cardstock with 1/32" borders. Foam tape in the lower right corner.
Stamp three stars on watercolor paper, color as for the stars on the front, and blend with the brush and water. Glue one to the sentiment and one above it, then foam tape the third just left of the sentiment. Place jewel Dazzles™ as shown.
