Gingerbread Men Cutaway Christmas Card

For the card front: Turn the card with the fold on the left and trim it to 4½"x5". Place the pattern on the front and trace along the curving edge. Trim along the line to create a cutaway card. Cut a piece of the red mesh border paper to fit the front with the border along the bottom, but don’t glue yet.

Cut a 5"x½" green mesh paper and glue to the red piece just above the striped border. Glue a 6" argyle ribbon centered on the green mesh strip, securing the ends on the back. Ink the paper edges red. Place the piece on the cutting mat and use the knife to cut a 2½" wide slit just above the green mesh.

Cut out the green/stripes tag and mat on gold paper with 1/16" borders. Slip the bottom into the slit and glue at an angle as shown. Glue the constructed front to the card. Glue the gingerbread men in the tag center. Foam tape “celebrate” to the red ribbon area. Knot a 3" argyle ribbon and glue to the tag. Mat “Season's Greetings” on gold with 1/32" borders and foam tape to the lower right.

For the inside: Cut a piece of green trees paper to fit the inside and ink the edges green. Glue. Use vellum adhesive to attach the acrylic “Merry Christmas” sentiment, then glue a gingerbread man at the lower right. Use the corner rounder on the two corners as shown and on the front lower right corner. Re-ink the rounded corners.
