Swirls & Squares Christmas Card

For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top and trim to 6"x4 5/8". Cut green dots paper to fit the front and ink the edges, but don't glue yet. Cut a 5 5/8"x4¼" red argyle paper, cutting it from the corner design. Cut it in half to make two 5 5/8"x2 1/8" pieces. Now cut each piece into three 1 7/8"x2 1/8" pieces. Ink all the edges, then glue the six pieces evenly spaced on the dots paper, positioning the flower design at the upper right.

Cut out the large “Merry Christmas” label. Place on the cutting mat and use the knife to cut a 5/8" slit in each end of the label. Cut two 2"x 5/8" burgundy suede paper strips. Insert one into each slit, then fold and glue the end under. Glue the label to the squares piece as shown. Fold and glue the suede ends on the back. Glue the constructed front to the card and add nailheads as shown.

For the inside: Cut a 5"x3¼" red argyle paper with a portion of the swirls pattern at the lower left. Ink the edges. Cut two 5"x 1/8" burgundy suede strips and glue to the argyle piece, one along each long edge. Glue the piece centered on the inside. Cut the acrylic sentiment to 2¾"x2½" and glue centered on the argyle piece. Add nailheads as shown.
