Knotted Merry & Bright Christmas Card
For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top and cover the front with Christmas Splendor brown paper. Cut a 4½"x3¼" Christmas Splendor red paper and ink the edges gold. Mat on gold paper with 1/8" borders, then glue centered on the card. Rub gold ink onto a doily until it’s completely colored. Cut 3¼" off one end and glue to the card, aligning the left edges. Cut a 6½"x3¾" section off the side and end of the doily and set aside. Cut a 1¼"x5" section off the long edge of the remainder and glue along the left edge as before. Ink the card edges gold.
Hold two red and two gold Mizuhiki cords together and tie the Pine Tree Knot as instructed in the book. Position a gold cord on each side of the red cords throughout the knot. Wire the ends and place on the craft sheet. Paint glaze over the knot and 2" of each end and let dry. Glue to the front as shown and trim off the excess. Punch a fancy square from Christmas Splendor ivory paper and stamp the frame and “Merry & Bright” in brown on it. Mat on gold paper with 1/16" borders, then foam tape to the front as shown. Paint the stamped poinsettias with Smooch as shown.
For the inside: Cut Christmas Splendor teal paper to cover the inside, ink the edges gold, and glue. Glue the 6½"x3¾" doily section from step 1 to the inside, aligning the upper and right edges. Stamp the 2¼" square and “Happy HOLIDAYS” in brown on Christmas splendor ivory paper and cut out. Mat on gold paper with 1/16" borders, then on Christmas Splendor red paper with 1/32" borders. Ink the edges gold and glue to the doily 1 1/8" from the right edge.
Hold one brown, two red, and two gold cords together and tie the Abalone Shell knot. Position the brown cord in the center with a red and gold cord on each side. Secure with wire, place on the craft sheet, and glaze. Let dry, then glue to the inside as shown, cutting off the excess. Color the stamped holly berries red.
