Buzzing for Your Birthday
The card base will be a 10"x6 1/2" piece of black cardstock scored at 5" and folded with a bone folder.
For the card front (which will show beneath the window): Use the Clockwork & Cogs die with midnight black Mirri, gold Diamond Sparkles cardstock, and brown fireworks holographic cardstock. Place the gold piece with Sticky Specks centered to show through the window and to be the base for the other gears. Trim out the other gears from the other cardstocks and place them onto the main gold cutting-die with Sticky Specks as shown. Place copper Jewel Dazzles™️ in the center of the cogs. From the paper pad, cut out a little steampunk bug and foam tape to the cogs as shown.
Cut 6 1/4"x6 1/2" black cardstock and score 1/2" on each long end. Cut 4 3/4"x6 1/4" green mottled (on the reverse side of the bugs paper from the Animal Arcadia paper pad). Secure generously with the tape runner to the center of the black cardstock inside the tabs leaving a 1/8" black border. Select the largest oval cutting die and place in the center 1/2" from all sides and run through the die cutting machine. Use extra sticky tape to secure 5"x6 1/2" heat resistant acetate for strength and to give a window effect to the back of the green piece. Fold the tabs inward and secure with extra sticky tape to the card base leaving 1/8" black border on either side to give it the bowed shape.
Place 1 1/4" lengths of the copper thin line Dazzles™️ and place in the two corners along with a copper Jewel Dazzle™️ where they meet. Trim out "Buzzing for your Birthday" sentiment and adhere to the top right corner with extra sticky tape at the top. Trim out and foam tape a little bug to the bottom. Make and Zot™️ a 2" brown bow at the top. Trim out and foam tape a medium bug to the top left corner. Trim out the large bug and foam tape to the bottom. Cut out layers from other images of the same designs and adhere with foam tape being sure to bow the wings with the bone folder. Place copper Jewel Dazzles™️ as shown.
For the inside: Cut 4 1/4"x3 1/2" green paper and secure to the card with the tape runner 1/2" from the fold and 1" from the top. Place copper thin line Dazzles™️ on the top and left side then mirror this 1/4" above to make another corner. Cut out the line of bugs and glue on the left of the green paper.
Use Sticky Specks on the back of the black Mirri , gold glitter and brown fireworks then die cut the Clockwork & Cogs. Trim out the brown and gold gears then adhere to the black main gears with Sticky specks. Glue to the card. Foam tape two bugs as shown. Place "Sending Smiles" Dazzles™️ to the top right corner. Make and Zot™️ a 2" brown bow over the trio of little winged steampunk bugs. Place copper Jewel Dazzles™️ as shown.
Go over the front and inside card with the gold ink pad and brush to break up the black cardstock a bit. For the inside place paper along the fold to keep the ink on the right side.
