Designer’s Note: To create “fluffier” looking carnations, I first created the blossoms, then used my small scissors to snip the petals repeatedly along the outer edges. It’s another fun look for your cards!
Instructions:
1. For the card front: Place the card with the fold on the left. Cut 4¾"x6¼" Carnations blue textured cardstock and glue it centered on the front. Emboss white cardstock with the embossing folder, then lightly rub the ink pad over the raised areas. Trim the embossed panel to 3⅞"x5½" and mat it on tan cardstock with 1/16" borders. Glue it centered on the front.
2. Die cut the wreath once each from two different tan cardstocks. Glue both to the wood grain panel, slightly offsetting them. Die cut leaves from green cardstock and berries from white cardstocks. Glue leaves extending up the left side and across the bottom of the wreath.
3. Use ⅛" wide white ribbon to make a 6-loop bow and tie the center with thread. Glue to the wreath at the lower left as shown. Die cut two red violet, two white, and three iris crepe paper flowers, then follow the package directions to form each into a carnation. Use the scissors to snip the blossoms repeatedly, creating narrow petals. Glue the blossoms as shown.
4. Tuck and glue the berries and a few trimmed leaves in among the flowers. Trim off the right end of the “thinking of you” cutout to make it 2⅜" long. Foam tape it at the upper right, aligning the right end with the blue cardstock edge.
5. For the inside: Cut out the purple Carnations frame and mat it on dark blue cardstock with ⅛" borders. Glue it ¼" from the center fold, then glue the “because I care” die-cut at the lower right as shown.
