Instructions:
1. For the card front: Cut 6"x4½" Carnations pink border cardstock with flowers along the bottom and mat it on dark pink cardstock with ⅛" borders. Wrap dotted magenta sheer ribbon over the cardstock, 1" from the left end, and glue the ends to the back. Glue the cardstock centered on the card front.
2. Make a 4-loop bow with the same ribbon and tie the center with thread. Glue it to the first ribbon, 1¾" from the card top. Foam tape the “sending warmest wishes” die-cut just under the bow as shown.
3. Die cut a solid medium butterfly from dark pink cardstock and a solid large butterfly from purple cardstock. Cut a 2¼" square of the glitter sheet and place it on dark pink cardstock. Die cut a medium openwork butterfly from the glittered cardstock, then use sticky tape on the body to attach it to the solid pink butterfly, aligning the edges.
4. Repeat the process with glitter sheet on purple cardstock to die cut a large openwork butterfly and attach it to the matching solid butterfly. Use sticky tape to attach both to the front as shown. Place pink pearls on the bow and butterflies as shown.
5. For the inside: Cut a 6"x4¾" Carnations lavender border cardstock and glue it to the lower inside panel, aligning the top edge with the card’s center fold. Follow the die package directions to cut the pop-up mechanism from lavender cardstock, then use the bone folder to crease the score lines as directed.
6. Die cut the large tag from Carnations lavender patterned cardstock, then follow the package directions to attach it and the mechanism to the inside. Die cut the two smaller tags from the same lavender printed cardstock and two candles from pink patterned cardstock.
7. Repeat the process for the butterflies on the front to create a small layered purple butterfly. Attach more glitter sheet pieces to various pink, purple, and yellow cardstocks, then die cut balloons, stars, and two flames from them. Glue the flames to the candles and glue the die-cuts to the tags as shown. Glue small thread bows and knotted threads to the balloons on the two smaller tags. (Because the small tags rub against the large tag when closing the card, avoid adding 3-dimensional items to the large tag.) Glue the tags to the mechanism as shown.
8. Glue the “happy birthday” die-cut overlapping the mechanism’s lower edge. Glue the butterfly, two balloons and a star as shown. Glue a thread bow and knotted threads to these balloons.
