Waxed & Embossed Best Wishes Card
For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top. Cut 6½"x5" brown cardstock and glue to the front. Cut 6 3/8"x4 7/8" Steampunk tan checks paper and glue centered on the front.
Cut 6"x4¼" brown cardstock, place in the embossing folder, and follow the machine manufacturer’s directions to emboss it. Place the panel on the craft sheet. Use the palette knife to lift a small amount of Copper and Gold wax from the jars, placing both on the craft sheet.
Use your finger to rub both colors of wax over the entire panel. Scrunch a baby wipe into a ball, then dab it over the panel, smoothing the wax, blending the colors, and leaving a slight pattern in the surface. Let the panel dry completely.
Trim the embossed panel to 5¾"x4" with the design at the top and left edges. Use the double-sided tape to mat the panel on brown cardstock with 1/16" borders. Place “best wishes” Dazzles across the bottom right.
Place four double-stick Dazzles™ butterflies on the panel as shown. Cover with Solar Gold glitter and rub it into the adhesive with your finger. Tap off the excess, then brush the panel with the duster or cloth to remove any remaining glitter.
Wrap a 5" ribbon vertically over the panel, 7/8" from the left edge, and glue the ends to the back. Foam tape the panel to the center front. Make a 4-loop bow with the remaining ribbon and tie the center with thread. Glue to the first ribbon 1¾" from the upper card edge.
Glue a ½" peach glitter button to the bow center, then tie a shoestring thread bow and glue to the button. Glue a pearl to the body of each butterfly.
For the inside: Cut 6"x4½" Steampunk brown gears paper and mat on tan cardstock with 1/16" borders. Glue centered on the inside. Cut 6"x4¼" tan cardstock and repeat the embossing and waxing process as for the front. Add a coat of Apricot wax over the panel, then dab with a baby wipe as before. Let dry.
Trim the panel to 4"x4", cutting off the embossed end. Mat on brown cardstock with 1/16" borders, then glue to the brown paper with the embossing at the bottom, 5/8" from the right card edge. Place “celebrate” Dazzles™ at the upper left as shown.
