Start Each Day Like It's Your Birthday Card
Card front: Place your card with the fold on the left. Glue a 5"x1/2" strip of Burgundy suede paper across the top. Back a filmstrip Dazzles™ border with metallic gold paper and glue just below the suede. Cut a 5"x2" piece of Darkroom yellow patterned paper. Stamp the birthday greeting with Black Cherry ink about 1/2" from the right. Glue to the card just under the filmstrip. Back 3 large filmstrip section Dazzles™ with metallic gold paper (and add the inner swirls). Glue along the bottom of the yellow strip. Cover the remaining bottom section with suede paper. Hold together lengths of burgundy grosgrain and yellow crepe ribbons and tie a bow. Cut a “V” into the ends. Bore a hole through the middle knot with a Craft Pick (or punch a 1/8" hole with a Crop-a-Dile) and insert a yellow pearl Embellies™ brad through it. Zot™ to the top left of the greeting as shown.
For the Paper Tole: Punch out the open frame layer of the paper tole. Place it face down over the Iris Folding template with the center of the iris framing the "flower" in the corner of the frame. Cut a couple 12" x 3/4" strips each of gold metallic paper, and Darkroom red patterned, multi-color tiled, and maroon/blue patterned papers for the iris folding. Score along the strips about 1/4" from one edge and fold lengthwise. Follow the iris folding pattern, starting with gold on the outside. Don't worry too much about the order the strips should be filled in, just go generally from the outside to the center. Trim the strips as you go to fit inside the frame without poking out, taping down the strips with small pieces of clear tape. Follow the instructions on the template for following the iris pattern. Alternate gold with the patterned papers to create the look shown. Once you've taped down all your strips, check the front to make sure you have the look you want. Place a few full sized strips of clear tape over the entire back for additional security. Trim any pieces of strips that are poking outside of the frame. Foam tape the frame to the base paper tole layer. Finish assembling the remaining upper layers of the paper tole. Glue the finished piece to the card below the greeting as shown. Add corner Dazzles™ to the corners of the paper tole piece. Remove the prongs from a medium Embellies™ brad by bending them back and forth. Use foam tape to attach the brad to the center of the flower shape on the paper tole piece.
Card inside: Glue 5"x4 1/2" Darkroom yellow marbled paper to the card, 1" from the top. Fill in the remaining areas with suede paper. Add a large swirl Dazzles™ to the bottom right and a medium swirl to the top left as shown, adding in a small heart. Cut off the excess of the large Dazzles™ and place it with the cut side along the fold on the lower left as shown. Back a small camera Dazzles™ with suede, leaving a 1/16” border, and glue it on the lower left as shown.
