Techniques: #1 – Using paper pattern for the title; #2 – Baker’s twine lollipops
Designer’s Tip: Baker’s twine makes the cutest lollipops, and they’re so easy! The great design of these papers makes this a quick and easy layout to put together.
STEP #1 BACKGROUND – Use the purple spider web paper with the orange strip across the top. Glue a 12”x3” orange text paper at the bottom. Glue the web ribbon across the top of the orange paper as shown, and tape the ends to the back.
STEP #2 PHOTOS – For the right page: Ink the edges of one 6”x4” photo, one 4” square, and one 2 5/8”x4” photo, and mat on orange paper with 1/8” borders. Glue the 6”x4” photo onto a 7 1/2”x6” candy corn paper and tear the edges. Glue to the page 1 1/2” from the right and 2 3/4” from the top. Foam tape the 4” square photo 1/8” from the left and 1 1/2” from the bottom. Foam tape the 2 5/8”x4” photo 1/2” from the right and 3/4” from the bottom.
STEP #3 TECHNIQUE – BAKER’S TWINE LOLLIPOPS: Decide where you want the lollipops. They should be 1” in diameter when finished. I placed one on the left page and two on the right. Swirl a good amount of adhesive (I used glue stick) on your paper where you want the lollipop. Carefully place the end of the twine in the center and use your finger to press the twine into the glue as you go around in a circle. Work quickly before the glue dries. When you reach the desired size, cut the end with scissors, ending at the bottom of the circle where the “stick” will be. Cut a 1/8” strip of orange paper and glue to the bottom as the stick.
STEP #4 JOURNALING – Print your journaling on a 3 1/4”x2” white cardstock and sponge ink on the edges. Mat on orange paper with 1/8” borders and ink the edges. Glue to the right page 1 3/4” from the bottom and centered between the photos.
STEP #5 EMBELLISHMENTS: For the right page: Insert a pumpkin brad at the lower right corner of the journaling. Zot a baker’s twine bow at the lower left corner of the journaling.
Journaling Recipe: Describe a party or special event, including the date and who attended.
