Thinking of You
With the fold at the left, cover the card front with Glossy Color Me™ butterflies paper. Cut an additional 5”x1 ¾” rectangle from the butterflies paper. Add 2 drops of blending solution to a clean felt on the applicator, and apply evenly over the paper just to moisten it. Add a few drops of stream ink to the felt, then a few drops of wild plum ink. Apply the inks to the moistened paper with a tapping motion of the applicator, allowing the colors to mix on the paper. Add more ink as needed to achieve the desired look. Repeat this process for the rectangle, then set reserve for the inside.
Moisten a clean felt or paper towel with blending solution and wipe over the raised design on the card front to remove excess ink from the design. Cut out 2 small and one large butterfly, two labels, and scalloped border from the tags and border sheet, leaving a 1/16” white border around each piece. Ink the pieces with stream ink, including the outer white border, then add small amounts of the wild plum ink along the bottom of the border, randomly over the butterflies, and randomly over centers of the label shapes. Wipe off excess from the raised design on each piece with blending solution. Write or computer print “thinking of you” on one label and glue to the right side of the card front, 3” from the bottom. Glue inked border even with the left side, trimming edge evenly with the card. Glue ribbon across border as shown. Reserve remaining inked label and butterfly for the inside.
Add two drops of each ink color in the same spot on a clean felt so the colors mix. Apply the ink to the flower, covering the entire flower with the purple color. Let the flower dry, then Zots™ to the card front left of the label. Zots™ small butterflies as shown.
Glue the inked rectangle from step #1 across the center of the inside. Glue ribbon across the rectangle, 3/8” from the top of the rectangle. Write or computer print “on your special day” on the remaining label. Glue centered over the ribbon, overlapping the inked rectangle. Glue remaining inked butterfly as shown.
