Designer’s Note: Because slits that secure the pop-up must be cut into the card base, I decorated the inside before decorating the front, which covered the slits and tabs. I hid the slit and tab on the back under another cutout. While the Present Crosshatch die can be used in either portrait or landscape style cards, this is a landscape style card.
Instructions:
1. For the inside: Cut two 5⅝"x3⅞" Carnations purple patterned cardstocks and glue them to the inside as shown. Follow the die package directions to die cut the present pieces from purple cardstock and to create and secure the pop-up to the inside.
2. Place border Dazzles™ along the outer edges of the patterned cardstocks as shown, trimming the excess. Cut out the Carnations blank circle label and place “happy birthday” Dazzles™ on it. Glue it to the lower inside and place the butterfly and heart Dazzles™ as shown.
3. For the card front: Cut 6¼"x4¾" Carnations purple border cardstock with the flowers along the left. Wrap purple crepe ribbon over the cardstock 1" from the left end and glue the ribbon ends to the back. Glue the cardstock centered on the front.
4. Make a 4-loop bow with the same ribbon and tie the center with thread. Glue the bow to the first ribbon 1½" from the card top, then glue a floret over the bow center. Cut out the Carnations purple label shown and place “the more candles…” Dazzles™ on it. Foam tape the label in the lower right corner.
5. For the back: Cut out the Carnations “I smile when I think of you” label and glue it over the slit and the pop-up tab.
