A Jack-O-Lantern Card & Envelope
For the envelope: Cut a 7 ½”x3½” piece of the orange stripes paper and ink the edges. Tack it to the envelope front so it can be removed easily. Place the opened envelope on a cutting surface. Center the slide mount on the envelope front, turning it on point. Trace around the inner square of the slide mount, then remove it. Use the knife to cut out the window. Carefully remove the striped paper from the envelope.
Cut a ½”x7” strip of black texture. Mat it on lime texture and ink the edges. Cut this strip in half and glue one along each end of the striped piece. Cut the overlay words to 2”x7 ½”. Place it across the striped piece and secure the ends to the strips with brads as shown.
Cover the slide mount with black textured paper. Stamp “Just for you” onto the purple tag, then use a brad to attach it to the right corner of the slide mount frame. Attach a bat brad and the “jack-o-lantern” word art to the frame as shown. Glue the slide mount frame over the window, then glue the constructed piece to the envelope front.
Cover all the flaps with the remainder of the striped paper, inking the paper edges before gluing them in place. Cut a ½”x7” strip of black textured paper and mat it on lime. Ink the edges. Cut it in half, then glue one to each short flap, positioned as shown. Add two brads to the jack-o-lantern candy bucket art and glue it to the large end flap as shown.
For the tag card: Cut a 3”x7” piece of black textured paper. On the right end, measure ¾” both directions on the two corners and mark those points on the edges. Cut the corners off along those marks to form the tag shape.
Holding the envelope flaps closed, slip the tag card inside it and mark where to place the jack-o-lantern brad buddy. Remove the card and attach the buddy using two round black brad “eyes.” (I positioned it a bit high in the window so his eyes peeked over the “smile” wording.)
Cut a ½”x6” strip of orange stripes and mat it on lime. Cut it in half and attach the strips to the tag with brads, positioned as shown. Punch out and glue the candy along the bottom of the card. Punch out a 1½” long orange label and mat it on cardstock. Fold it in half, then attach one end to the front of the card on the right end, using a brad.
Tack this constructed piece onto cardstock in two places and cut a mat for the card. Carefully remove the card. On the back of the cardstock adhere the “Happy Halloween” felt ribbon in place. Attach two bat brads near the words.
Glue the constructed card to the front of the cardstock tag. Fold the tab on the right end to the back and glue it in place. Glue the flaps on the envelope in place. Slip your tag card into the envelope, positioning the jack-o-lantern peeking through the window.
