For the card front: Turn the card with the fold at the top and cover the front with tan textured paper. Ink the edges brown. Cut 5"x3½" brown striped and brown paisley papers. Ink the edges brown, then glue to the front as shown. Cut 4½"x2½" brown suede paper and glue to the paisley paper, 3/8" from the upper edge.
Place a doily on scrap paper and use the sponge to color it with blue ink. Glue to the lower left front, ½" extending off the left edge, and trim the excess. Cut 6½"x¾" brown/blue striped paper and mat the long edges on navy suede paper with 1/16" borders. Cut out the brown striped folder tab and stamp “happy” on it in brown. Glue over the right upper edge of the striped piece, then glue the strip across the card, 7/8" from the bottom.
Punch a floriano flower from blue textured paper and from navy suede paper. Punch two starflowers from tan textured paper, then ink all the paper flower edges brown. Stack the flowers as shown, gluing the layers together, then insert a swirl brad in the center. Punch five brown suede leaves and glue them and the flower to the front as shown. Make a jute bow with four loops and tie the center with thread. Trim the thread ends, then glue the bow as shown.
For the inside: Cut 2¾"x5" brown/blue striped paper and 4"x3" blue textured paper. Ink the edges brown and stamp “happy birthday” in brown on the blue paper. Glue both pieces to the inside as shown. Cut ½"x5" brown suede and glue vertically, 7/8" from the left edge. Ink a doily blue, then cut into 1¾" and 2¼" pieces. Glue as shown and trim the excess along the sides.
Punch two brown suede paper leaves, a navy suede paper floriano flower, and two tan textured paper starflowers. Ink the starflower edges brown, then stack them and glue. Apply a flower rub-on in the center, then glue all the flowers and the leaves as shown. Stamp “make a wish” and a heart in brown on a round Start-Up disc. Insert a copper brad and glue as shown.
