Trace the house shape onto the back of 12”x12” paper and cut it out. Cut each section apart and ink the edges black. Glue to the outside of the house. Repeat for the inside. Lightly sand the edges.
Windows: Cover each window with black paper, folding the shutters forward and lightly sand. Glue lace to the top inside back of each window. Write on tan paper and glue to the back of each. Glue a row of white buttons to the window’s bottom edge. Glue to the school house sides. Cover a scalloped round window with black paper, back with a photo and glue a brown bow to the bottom glue to the house back.
Door: Cover the door “window” with black paper and sand the edge. Glue a photo behind the window and glue closed. Secure a brown mini brad through the layers for a door knob (tip: this also helps keep the door securely closed). Glue a clock cut-out to a black paper covered chipboard circle and glue above the door under the roof peek. Secure the house sides with a length of brown ribbon threaded through the holes in the wall sides.
Roof: Cut the script print from a portion of the collaged paper and glue to each side of the roof so that the print is right side up on each side. Use the knife to cut around the scalloped edge. Ink the edges. Apply black textured paper to the scalloped border and cut to fit on length on each side of the roof peek. Cut a ¾” wide strip of burlap paper from the collaged papers and ink the long edges black. Glue along the roof peek, covering the seam between the two scalloped borders. Glue a large brown flower, lengths of paper ruler and a large brown button to the left side of the roof.
Inside: Mat 2”x3” photos with black paper, leaving a 1/8” wide border. Embellish with pieces of lace, paper rulers, buttons and cut-outs from the books (tip: many of the cut-outs used were cut from tags and other art from the Ephemera book).
