Happy Father’s Day!
Take the flat Side Step card and fold on the scored lines as shown on the insert, with the accordion folded steps on the right side. Trace the “front side” paper pattern onto tracing paper and cut it out. Use as a template and trace the shape onto Rhapsody blue/black dots paper. Cut out the shape and mat on black cardstock with 1/16” borders. Cut a 5/8” wide strip of Rhapsody striped paper and glue even with the bottom, trimming side edges evenly. Glue on the front of the card as shown.
Trace the remaining paper patterns and cut them out. Create one “Front Riser” shape on Rhapsody white/black dots paper and two “Back Riser” shapes on Rhapsody orange patterned paper. Glue the white/black piece on the front riser as shown. Place the Dazzles™ large bicycle centered on one orange piece so the big wheel overlaps the bottom, just slightly. Add Embellies™ brads on the center of each wheel. Flatten the prongs on the back and glue the paper centered on the back riser. Back the Dazzles™ large star on Rhapsody blue/black dots paper and trim the edges evenly. Add it overlapping the top edge of the back riser. Reserve the remaining orange rectangle for the inside.
Following your die cutting machine manufacturer’s instructions, cut a black lacy frame and an orange center using the medium rectangle cutting die. Turn the orange rectangle die-cut vertically. Trim a white/black scallop pattern from Rhapsody striped paper and glue even with the bottom. Foam tape the orange rectangle die-cut on the blue/black dotted card front, 5/8” from the top and 1/2” from the left. Place the black frame die-cut around the orange rectangle and glue in place.
Place the Rad Dad Dazzles™ large hat, glasses, and moustache centered on the orange rectangle die-cut. Place Dazzles™ “Hipsters” on Rhapsody orange patterned paper and trim to a rectangle. Mat on black with very thin borders. Mat on Rhapsody red patterned paper with 1/16” borders. Glue overlapping the top right edge of the front layer of the card as shown. Place Dazzles™ “ARE THE” on red patterned paper and trim into a small rectangle. Mat on black with very thin borders. Mat on white/black dots paper with 1/16” borders. Mat again on black with thin borders. Foam tape on the left side of the card front below the frame as shown. Place Dazzles™ “ORIGINAL” arrow on red patterned paper and trim the edges evenly. Foam tape it angled between the other words as shown. Place Dazzles™ “DADS” angled across the red/white Embellies™ tag. Add the orange/black heart brad below the word. Foam tape the tag on the upper left edge of the card as shown.
Die cut two small black frames and 2 small red patterned paper centers. Glue one black frame die-cut centered on the white/black riser, extending above the top. Glue a red center inside the frame. Place Dazzles™ “RAD DAD” on the red center. Set aside remaining die-cuts for the inside.
Decorate with more Rad Dad Dazzles™ and Teal Jewel Dazzles™ as shown. Use 1/8” wide orange grosgrain ribbon to tie a bow. Zot™ the bow on the lower right corner of the black frame.
Inside: Use the “Inside” pattern to trace and cut out a Rhapsody white/black dots shape and mat on black with thin borders. Add a Rhapsody striped paper strip across the left side, 7/8” from the top. Add another strip even with the bottom as shown. Glue the piece centered on the inside. Take the reserved orange rectangle for the “Back Riser” and glue it centered on the upper right section on the inside as shown.
Write or computer print “Happy Father’s Day!” centered on the reserved red die-cut. Glue together with the remaining black frame die-cut on the inside as shown. Back the Dazzles™ large arrow on blue/black dots paper and trim edges evenly. Make a loop with a 4” length of ribbon and Zot™ on the right side of the card. Add the backed arrow centered over the ribbon. Place the Dazzles™ small bike centered on the orange paper. Add remaining Rad Dad Dazzles™ and Teal Jewel Dazzles™ as shown.
