Birthday Wishes Steampunk Card
For the front: Place your card with the fold on the left. Cover the card front with silver ripple paper and set aside. Cut a 5"x6 1/2" piece of double-sided adhesive and peel off one backing. Sprinkle on the Megaflakes and rub with your finger until the entire piece is covered. Store excess back in the container. Scoop out a good amount of translucent embossing paste with a palette knife and place a mound near the top of the Mega flake-covered piece. Use the mini squeegee to spread the embossing paste in a very thin layer over the whole piece (work over a craft sheet or scrap paper). Apply more embossing paste and spread until the entire piece is covered with a thin, even layer. Take the Steampunk Colorist image and carefully place it face down over the embossing paste, centering it on the piece. Gently rub over the piece with your hand to adhere the Colorist image to the embossing paste evenly. Set aside. On a sheet of acetate, spread copper embossing paste with a squeegee to about a 5"x2 1/2" area. Cut out two of the blank labels and carefully place them face down on the embossing paste. Gently rub to adhere evenly. Set the Megaflakes piece and the copper pieces aside to dry overnight.
Once dry, take the Megaflakes piece and place on a craft sheet. Pour a small amount of water on the paper (back of the Colorist image). When the paper becomes saturated with water, try to peel off large chunks of the paper. When you can no longer peel off large pieces, start rubbing with your fingers, adding water as needed. Use a damp rag for additional friction until all of the paper fibers are rubbed off and the transferred image remains. Don't rub so hard that the ink comes off. Once all the paper is pretty much rubbed off, let the piece dry (a heat gun can speed things up). Squeeze about a quarter-sized pool of Crystal Lacquer in the corner of the piece and use a large flat paintbrush to spread the lacquer in a thin coat all over the piece. Add more lacquer if necessary until you cover the piece. Immediately wash brush before it dries. Let the piece dry thoroughly. Cut out around the outer line of the image. Glue centered to the front of the card. Repeat the paper removal process for the two labels. Before glazing with Crystal Lacquer, stamp "Birthday Wishes" in the square label and "Thinking of You" in the rectangle label with black StazOn®. Paint with a coat of Crystal Lacquer and let dry. Cut out both labels. Foam tape the square label to the front of the card 1/4" from the right and 1 1/2" from the top. Glue a small silver twill bow to the base of the label. Add brown Baby Bling to the dots in the background of the Colorist image and to the centers of some of the gears as shown. Place copper Jewel Border Dazzles™ around the border of the card as shown, trimming as needed.
For the inside: Glue 1"x6 1/2" of silver ripple to the right side. Add Copper Jewel Border Dazzles™ as shown. Glue the "Thinking of You" label 1" from the top and 1/2" from the right. Glue a small silver bow to the bottom left of the label as shown.
