Rad Dad Card
For the Front: Place the card with the fold on the left. Cover the card front with black cardstock. To create the diamond background: Cut 6 1/2"x2" rectangle from each of the following papers: green, black dot, gray, and white pattern. Turn the green piece over to the back and place on your cutting mat horizontally. Draw a vertical line every 3/4" along the strip. Draw a horizontal line every 1/2" inch, creating an elongated grid. Draw diagonal lines across all of the intersections on the grid. Cut along the diagonal lines to create 16 diamonds (you'll have extra at the end of the process). When placed vertically, each diamond should measure 1" across and 1 1/2" from top to bottom. Repeat this process with all four of the patterned papers.
Once all your diamonds are cut out, you're ready to glue. With a ruler, draw a light pencil line across the card, 1 1/4" from the top. Make a small mark in the very center of the line. Glue the first gray diamond in the center of the line so that the line intersects through the middle of the diamond. Glue gray diamonds to the right and left of the center diamond, spacing them out about 1/8" apart and keeping them aligned on the line. Glue black dot diamonds above the gray, filling in the black areas and keeping a narrow space between each diamond. Glue green diamonds above the black (only the tips will fit on the card). Repeat gluing the diamonds below the row of gray in the following pattern: white pattern, green, black dot, and gray, repeating until your card is completely covered with diamonds. Zot™ black grosgrain ribbon across the card front 2 ¼” from the top and 1/2" from the bottom.
Cut 3" x 2" of green and mat on black cardstock with a 1/16" border. Center the "Dads Are The Original Hipsters" Dazzles on the piece and foam tape it to the card 1/2" from the top and 1/4" from the left. Cut 1 3/4" x 1 1/4 of green and mat on black the same way. Place the large hat Dazzle on it and foam tape to the card 1 3/4" from the top and 1/4" from the right. Cut 2 1/4" x 7/8" of green and mat on black. Place the glasses Dazzles™ on gray paper, then trim next to the Dazzles™ edge and glue centered. Foam tape the piece to the card 1/8" from the left and 2" from the bottom. Cut 2 3/4" x 1" of green and mat on black. Place the large mustache in the center and foam tape to the card 1/8" from the right and 3/4" from the bottom.
For the inside: Glue 4 7/8" x 2 1/2" of black dot paper across the bottom. Glue 4 7/8" x 1/2" of green above the black dot. Place a bicycle on the green strip, 1/2" from the left. Cut a 1 1/4" square of green and mat on black. Place "Rad Dad" Dazzles on it and glue to card 1 1/4" from the top and 1/2" from the right. Back the tie Dazzle with white pattern and glue to the base of the square as shown. Place the mustache Dazzle above the greeting square as shown.
