Happy Camper Card
Note: all matting on this card is done with a 1/16" border around the objects.
For the front: Place your card with the fold on the left. Cover the card with leaf border paper, with the border along the bottom. For the large sign: Cut 3 1/2" x 3" of green paper and print "When I'm with you I'm always" in the center, leaving a 1/2" of space along the top and bottom. To do this, I use a technique called computer journaling: Type up your chosen greeting and print it near the center of the page (in Word, it helps to insert a text box so the words are easily moved wherever you want on the page). Place the printed page over a light source and align the green paper over the greeting so the words are centered. Use small pieces of Scotch tape to secure in place. Run through your printer, printing the exact same way, and the words will land on the green paper.
Use Design Tool Kit #7 to trace a Designer Label around the greeting. Cut out and erase any pencil lines. Back a arrow border Dazzles™ with wood grain paper and cut out. Glue the pointed end along the top of the label and the tail along the bottom of the label as shown. Trim off excess. Mat onto brown cardstock. Cut a 2 3/4" x 2" piece of wood grain and round corners with the Corner Chomper (1/4"). Mat on brown cardstock and round corners again. Glue the green label centered on the wood grain piece. Place copper Jewel Dazzles™ (from the Scrapbooking Dazzles™) in the 4 corners of the sign and foam tape it to the card 3/8" from the left and 1/2" from the top. Cut two 1/8" x 4" strips of brown cardstock and glue below the sign to act as signposts.
For the small sign: Peel off the "Happy Camper" Dazzles™ and back the word "Happy" with wood grain. Back the rest with green paper and foam tape to the card 3/8" from the right and 1 3/4" from the bottom. Cut 1/8" x 2" of brown cardstock and glue below the small sign. Add 4 Jewel Dazzles™ from the Trailblazer Scrapbooking Dazzles™ along the signpost. Peel off one large branch Dazzles™ and place it along the lower left corner of the card as shown. Place another large branch in the top right corner as shown. Trim excess, saving the largest piece for the inside. Use a craft knife and ruler to cut 1/16" strips of copper Dazzles™ material from the edge of the sheet. Line the card edges with the strips, trimming to fit.
For the inside. Place the remainder of the large branch Dazzles™ on the lower left, and add extra leaves and twigs Dazzles™ as necessary. Peel off the "Life is better outside" Dazzles™ and back the top part with wood grain. Place a small copper Jewel Dazzles™ on the sign as shown. Back the trees with dark green diamonds paper. Use scissors to cut out the word "outside" and discard. Computer journal "with you" in the center of a 4" square of green paper. Glue the Dazzles™ sign over the printed words, centering them in the space where the other word was. Cut around the sign and glue to the card 1/2" from the top and 1/4" from the right. Glue 1/8" x 3 3/4" of brown cardstock below the sign, trimming excess. Add 3 arrows and 3 copper Dazzles™ to the signpost as shown.
