Rainbows After the Rain Card
For the Front: Place the card with the fold on the left. Cover with Mirage teal paper. Cut 1 ¾” x 6 ½” teal/yellow pattern paper and ink the edges with Black StazOn®. Glue even with the fold. Cut 6 ½”x3/4” pink paper and ink the edges. Glue vertically 1 ¾” from the left. Ink the edges of the whole card. Cut a 7” length of black vine ribbon and glue along the left side of the pink strip with Tacky Glue, making sure to glue down the ends well. Let dry and trim the excess ribbon. Stamp a corner flourish in each corner using the flourish from the Greetings & Labels Stamps.
Cut a teal cardstock label using the cutting dies. Stamp and emboss a decorative frame in the center using Super Fine Black embossing powder. Mat on black cardstock with a 1/16” border. Emboss the same frame on white cardstock and yellow paper. Cut out the outer line of the frame from the white cardstock and the inner line from the yellow paper. Glue the white piece onto the teal, lined up over the identical image. Emboss the “Rainbows only come…” greeting onto the yellow piece and glue onto the white cardstock. Foam tape the entire layered label onto the card centered over the pink strip, 3/8” from the top. Tie a small bow from sheer pink dot ribbon and glue to the bottom right corner of the label with Zots™ or Tacky Glue. Stamp a small and large heart on teal cardstock with black StazOn® and cut out. Glue below the layered label as shown.
For the girl: Stamp the umbrella girl directly onto the card ¼” from the right and 3/8” from the bottom with Black StazOn®. Stamp the same image on Ultra Smooth white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Color in the image using the following colors. Use the darker color first where possible. Jacket, hat & boots: Yellows, GB5, CT2, CT4. Skin: Pale Hues, FS3 & FS2. Hair: Browns, TN7. Water: Turquoises, BT5 & BT2. Tights: Turquoises, BT7. Dress: Reds, CR11. Umbrella: CR10 & CR11. Cut out the image and foam tape it over the already-stamped image on the card.
For the inside: Cut a piece of pink paper to cover the inside. Ink edges using Black StazOn® and a cosmetic sponge. Glue to the card. Ink the edges of 1 ¾”x5” multi-circle pattern paper and glue across the bottom. Stamp two borders of long flourishes across the top with Black StazOn®,; as shown.
Stamp the banner girl on Ultra Smooth White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Color her in with the same browns, yellows, and reds and skin colors as the girl on the front. Cut out around the image, leaving a 1/16” border. Cut above the girl’s banner, just under her hands. Stamp “Wishing You a Wonderful Day” on teal paper and cut out just the oval. Slip the oval under the girl’s hands and glue. Glue the girl to the card in the bottom left, ¼” from the right and 1 ¼” from the bottom. Stamp and cut out two hearts identical to the ones on the front, and glue as shown.
