Spread Your Wings Card
Card front: Place a card with the fold on your left and corner chomp the right hand corners using the ½” setting. Corner chomp the right hand corners of a 4 7/8”x6¼” Grapefruit border paper (keeping the center of the citrus burst at the top right) using the ½” setting. Glue along the fold. Glue a length of ½” black/pink stitched grosgrain ribbon ½” from the bottom edge, trimming even with the sides of the paper.
Copy the “SPREAD YOUR Wings” and “soar” digital images into your photo or text editing program, Use the formatting options to add a shadow and resize to 55%. Print onto white cardstock. Cut the “SPREAD…” greeting to 1¼” square and corner chomp the top corners using the ¼” setting. Mat on Grapefruit dark pink paper with a 1/16" border, tuck under the ribbon and glue ¼” from the right side of your card. Save the “soar” sentiment for the inside of your card.
Corner chomp the right hand corners of a 5”x6½” acetate using the ½” setting. Ultra Tape the left side only along the fold. Place Border Dazzles™ along the fold, as shown.
Follow your die cutting machine manufacturer’s instructions to cut the following die-cuts from the Iris Shimmer Sheetz: hummingbird body from pink and white; hummingbird body w/tail topper from orange and white; large wing from orange and white. Use Ultra Tape to stack the pieces, offset, to create a white shadow and wing feathers, as shown. Foam tape the small pink wing topper in place. Set the stacked bird on your acetate card front 1¼” from the top edge and ½” from the right side. Foam tape the head and body in place (the wing and tail will be foam taped later).
Cut the following die-cuts from the Iris Shimmer Sheetz: five pieces Bell Floral #2 from orange, four pieces Floral Leaf #2 from pink. Cut the following die-cuts from vellum: four pieces Bell Floral #2, nine pieces Floral Leaf #2. Set aside some of the Bell Floral and Floral Leaf die-cuts for your card inside. Use Ultra Tape to array the Bell Floral die-cuts under the bird wing, and the Floral Leaf die-cuts under the tail, as shown.
Place Black Jewel Dazzles™ on the acetate in various places and tape a small bow under the greeting, as shown. Use Orange Peel Stickles on the orange Shimmer Sheetz and Pink Taffeta Stickles on the pink Shimmer Sheetz die-cuts as highlights, as shown. Let dry.
Card inside: Glue a 1¼”x6½” Grapefruit border paper along the fold. Place Border Dazzles™ along the right edge of the paper only.
Trim the saved “soar” sentiment to 2¾”x5/8” and mat on Grapefruit dark pink paper with a 1/16" border. Glue 1½” from the top edge of your card, over a taped array of the saved die-cuts from step-5. Place Border Dazzles™ along the fold. Tape a small knot of ribbon as shown.
