Pop-Up Birthday Card
For the card front: Cut the card to 5"x5", then place it with the fold on the left. Cut 4¾"x4¾" lavender large Gingham paper and 1½"x4¾" blue mini Dotted paper. Glue the blue strip to the lavender paper, 1¼" from the left edge, then glue the lavender paper on the card front.
Cut 4¼"x2" pink large Dotted paper and cut a V-shaped notch in the left end. Glue the banner to the front, extending from the right edge, ¾" from the bottom. Cut 2¼"x1" aqua mini Dotted paper and stamp “birthday wishes” on it with Lagoon ink. Cut a notch in the left end, then glue it to the front as shown.
Stamp the cookie stack on aqua mini Dotted paper with Lagoon, the cupcake on lavender mini Dotted paper with Damson Wine, and the striped candy on pink mini Dotted paper with Plum Jam. Die cut each image.
Press the Lagoon ink pad onto the craft sheet, then spritz it once with water. Mix the water and ink with the paintbrush, then paint portions of the cookie stack with the diluted ink. Repeat with the Damson Wine to paint parts of the cupcake and Plum Jam to paint the stripes on the candy. Mat each die-cut on cardstock with narrow borders. Glue and foam tape them to the front and place wishing bubbles as shown.
For the inside: Cut two tan large Dotted papers and glue them centered on the inside card panels. Use the circle die to cut two card bases from cardstock. Follow the package directions to fold the scores of each in mountain and valley folds. Follow the directions and use the 2-sided tape to secure the folded circles into 3-dimensional pop-ups and to secure the two pop-ups together.
Die cut two quarter-circles and two eighth-circles from lavender small Gingham paper, and glue them to the panels of one pop-up. Die cut two quarter-circles and two eighth-circles from pink small Gingham paper and glue them to the second pop-up’s panels.
Stamp candies and sweets onto mini Dotted papers, using Lagoon ink on aqua paper, Damson Wine on lavender paper, and Plum Jam on pink paper. Die cut the images and paint portions of each as before. Trim the three sentiments shown into rectangles, then mat each on cardstock with 1/16" borders. Refer to the photographs for gluing and foam-taping the die-cuts and sentiments to the pop-ups and the inside panels. Place wishing bubbles as shown.
