House of Roses Birthday Cutaway Pocket Card
For the cutaway pocket: Open the first card and measure 4" from the upper right corner down the right edge and mark it. Cut from the center fold down to the mark. Open the second card and measure 4" from the upper left corner down the left side and mark it. Cut from the center fold down to that mark.
Close this second card and place double-sided tape along the side and bottom edges of the cutaway flap (but not along the angled top edge). Attach the back of the first card to this flap, matching the edges. Close the card, capturing the pocket inside.
For the card front: Cut 4¾"x6¼" House of Roses pink wall paper and ink the edges. Glue it centered on the front. Place gold “hello” Dazzles™ at the upper right as shown. Glue the House of Roses large birdhouse die-cut to the front, 1" from the left edge. Foam tape the large fence die-cut overlapping it, 7/8" from the card bottom.
Glue a House of Roses cat die-cut to the fence at the lower right, a 1¼" bird to the birdhouse front, and a ¾" butterfly to the wall as shown. Cut a stem of small flowers to 2½" tall and lightly ink the blossoms. Glue the stem along the left end of the fence.
Cut a 5-leaf sprig, ink it, and glue it over the stem. Cut two small flowers off a stem, ink both, and glue one to the bottom of the flower stem and the other just left of the cat. Cut two leaves, ink both, and glue them extending from under the cat’s flower as shown.
For the inside: Cut 4¾"x6¼" House of Roses boards paper and ink the edges. Glue it centered on the inside front. Cut out the rose/butterfly tag, ink the edges, and glue it as shown. Place gold “wishes” Dazzles™ overlapping the tag top.
Trace and cut the pocket paper patterns (shown below) from House of Roses tiles paper and ink the edges. Cut two 5"x1½" House of Roses rose board papers and ink the edges. Mat the long edges of both strips on cardstock with 1/8" borders. Glue one to each pocket paper, 3/8" from the bottom. Glue the papers to the matching pocket front and back.
For the pocket front, glue a 2 1/8" House of Roses rose and a ladybug die-cut near the right end of the strip, then glue two paper leaves extending from under the rose as shown. For the pocket back glue a 1½" rose die-cut at the lower right with three paper leaves extending from under it as shown.
Cut 4¾"x6¼" House of Roses boards paper with the horizontal board on the bottom and ink the edges. Glue it centered on the inside back. Place gold “happy birthday” Dazzles™ on the horizontal board, then glue the bicycle and 1" butterfly die-cuts above it as shown.
Close this second card and place double-sided tape along the side and bottom edges of the cutaway flap (but not along the angled top edge). Attach the back of the first card to this flap, matching the edges. Close the card, capturing the pocket inside.
