Card front: Place your card with the fold at the top. Cover the left half of the card with On Butterfly Wings pink/brown/ivory roses paper. Cover the right half of the card with On Butterfly Wings brown collage paper. Ink the card edges black. Cut a 6 1/2" length of 1/2" wide pink/ivory stitched grosgrain ribbon and glue across the card, 1 5/8” from the bottom. Stamp the collage border stamp onto On Butterfly Wings ivory textured paper with black ink. Trim the top edge straight near the image. Tear the edges at the sides and across the bottom. Mat with On Butterfly Wings black/ivory dots paper leaving thin straight borders. Now cut the length into 2 pieces. Glue one piece even with the left side of the card, even with the bottom edge of the ribbon. Repeat for the right side.
Use the large square frame cutting die and your die cutting machine to cut one frame from On Butterfly Wings black/ivory dots paper and one inside large label from On Butterfly Wings pink dots paper. Glue the frame to On Butterfly Wings ivory textured paper, trimming the edges evenly. Place the pink label on scrap paper. Ink the collage border stamp with black ink and stamp it on the scrap paper, then immediately stamp across the pink label, 1” from the bottom, so you have a faded image. Cut a 3”x3/8” strip from On Butterfly Wings striped paper and glue across the bottom curved portion of the pink label. Trim excess evenly with the label. Stamp the narrow “chain” border image onto On Butterfly Wings ivory textured paper and trim close to the edges of the image. Glue across the pink label, even with the top edge of the striped paper strip. Trim edges evenly with the label. Glue the label centered inside the black frame. Glue the frame centered on the card.
Stamp the following images onto On Butterfly Wings ivory textured paper and cut them out: the phonograph, large and small butterflies (cut off the antennae), key, and 2 butterfly/clock images (cut out 1 entire image, then 1 additional center clock image). Foam tape the round clock on the center of the entire butterfly/clock image, then glue on the upper left corner of the pink label as shown. Tie around the key with 1/8” wide brown grosgrain ribbon and place it on the upper right side of the label but do not. Foam tape the phonograph on the left side of the label, near the center. Apply pink chalk to the roses on the phonograph, and the center of the round clock. Chalk the phonograph with brown and black chalk as shown. Chalk the butterfly wings brown.
Stamp a large and small butterfly on scrap paper and cut around the top of the wings and body on each (cutting off the antennae) to create masks. Place the larger butterfly mask angled on the lower right portion of the label, then, aligning your inked stamp with the mask, stamp the image over the mask. Remove the mask, and you will have just the antennae stamped on the label. Gently fold the wings of your butterfly cut-out and foam tape the chalked butterfly aligned with antennae. Repeat for the small butterfly near the key as shown. Foam tape the key in place.
Finish the front: Stamp “Just for YOU” onto On Butterfly Wings ivory textured paper and trim into a rectangle. Trim the corners on the left side for a tag shape. Mat with On Butterfly Wings black/ivory dots paper with thin borders. Glue angled on the left side of the label/frame as shown. Tie a pink/ivory bow and Zot™ it near the tag as shown.
Inside the card: Glue pink/ivory ribbon across the card, even with the bottom. Cut a large label from On Butterfly Wings pink/brown/ivory roses paper and ink the edges black. Cut a 4”x1 1/2" On Butterfly Wings brown/ivory dots paper and mat the long sides with On Butterfly Wings black/ivory dots paper with 1/16” borders. Glue centered across the label, trimming edges evenly with the label. Cut a small label from On Butterfly Wings pink dots paper and mat on black/ivory dots paper with thin borders. Write or computer print “Happy Birthday” centered on the label. Glue centered on the brown dots paper on the large label. Re-use the large butterfly mask from above and stamp the antennae angled on the left side of the brown dots paper near the words. Stamp a butterfly image onto On Butterfly Wings ivory textured paper, cut it out, and chalk the wings as before. Align the butterfly with the antennae and glue in place.
